Lourdes Henares-Levy M.D. is a child and general
psychiatrist and an Adult and Child Psychoanalyst. She is a Faculty member of
the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute where she was also Director of
the Child Resource Center from 1999 to 2007.
Dr. Henares-Levy has served in the Program Committee of the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Society; was Chair of the Child Psychoanalytic Study Group and from 2005-07 was President of the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Society. At the national level of the American Psychoanalytic Association, she has served in the Committee for Gay and Lesbian Issues. Member of the Eastern Missouri Branch of the American Psychiatric Association, she was a Charter Member of the Committee on Homosexualities. At the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute, she teaches and supervises Candidates and students of the Advanced Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program, Child Development Program and the Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program. Several times she has been the recipient of the Ilene Edison Teacher of the Year Award. She holds a dual Faculty appointment at St. Louis University School of Medicine, Department of Neurology and Behavioral Sciences, and at the Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. She is guest lecturer and Washington University School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry.
